Behave Yourself

March 29, 2012

“I will sing of mercy and judgment: unto thee, O LORD, will I sing.  I will behave myself wisely in a perfect way. O when wilt thou come unto me” I will walk within my house with a perfect heart.  I will set no wicked thing before mine eyes…”  Psalm 101:1-3a

Be encouraged today to make up your mind to walk wisely and justly before the Lord. Sing of his mercy and judgment and understand that there are consequences for your actions whether they are good or evil. Behave yourself wisely and set no evil thing before your eyes(live uprightly before the Lord, guard your heart, your eyes, your ears and your footsteps from evil). Determine today that you will live for God and behave yourself.

Do it Right

March 28, 2012

“If the ax is dull and its edge unsharpened, more strength is needed but skill will bring success.” Ecclesiastes 10:10

It takes more work to try to display skills that are lacking. It takes extra work to try to convince people that you are something that you are not. My mother used to tell me while I was growing up that “lazy people work the hardest”. She was saying that lazy people spend so much time trying not to work and that they are always searching for short cuts to keep from actually working. They end up spending so much time trying to “beat the system” that it would have been quicker and more efficient to do the job the right way from the beginning. More strength is needed when the ax is dull and the edge unsharpened(you work harder when you are dishonest or too lazy to educate and discipline yourself to do what is right).  But skill will bring success(take time to sharpen the skills that you have and discipline yourself to work toward your destiny for success.) Be encouraged today to invest in whatever skills that you do have, go forth with your destiny and do it right.

Rejoice in this Day

March 27, 2012

“This is the day the LORD has made. We will rejoice and be glad in it.” Psalm 119:24

Take time today to give God thanks for being alive. This is the day that God created. You will never see this day again, so rejoice and be glad in the day that you are in. Be happy and know that you have another chance to be productive. You have another chance to get it right. You have another chance to change your life or uplift the lives or others. Rejoice and be glad in this day and everyday that you live.

Embrace Love

March 26, 2012

“Hatred stirs up dissension, but love covers over all wrongs.” Proverbs 10:12

It is important to understand that hate is powerful and stirs up animosity, jealousy, envy strife and dissension. But love is more powerful and enables one to overlook faults and all wrongs. Love enhances life and breeds potential for endless happiness. Embrace love in all that you do.

Lies and Truth

March 25, 2012

”Lying lips are abomination to the LORD: but they that deal truly are his delight” Proverbs 12:22

The Lord God despises lying lips and they are an abomination(abhorred, detested, loathed) in his presence.

However, if you deal in truth you are definitely God’s delight(pleasure, enjoyment, gratification)!

Too Precious for Perishing

March 24, 2012

“For the Lord watches over the way of the righteous, but the way of the wicked will perish.” Psalm 1:6

Be encouraged today to live in righteousness before the Lord. He promises to watch over those who do. The wicked do not have such a promise. The wicked will eventually perish. Take time to examine your life and give God your life and allow him to keep you and bless you.  Life is too precious for perishing.

Hearken to Counsel

March 23, 2012

“The way of a fool is right in his own eyes: but he that hearkeneth unto counsel is wise.” Proverbs 12:15

The Ancient Wise Owl is symbolic in our culture as having great wisdom.

Have you ever seen people who seemed to think that they know everything? Have you ever seen people do foolish things and they didn’t realize that those things were inappropriate? This scripture in the word of God says that the way of a fool is right in his own eyes. The dictionary defines the word fool as: a silly or stupid person; a person who lacks judgement or sense; a weak-minded or idiotic person.

I do believe that the most damaging ingredient in a person being a fool other than being silly, stupid or idiotic is being weak-minded. A weak minded person does not have the sense to understand that when he is wrong, he is really wrong. His weak mindedness prevents him from learning how not to be silly, stupid or idiotic. Be careful of people of are weak minded and who think that their foolish ways are right. Being with them may tarnish your perspectives of life and may hinder you from your destiny. The book of Proverbs is full of scriptures that celebrate how wonderful your life can be with honor, wealth and health if you embrace wise counsel.  Live your life well and live it blessed. Hearken to  counsel.

Can’t Live Without You

March 21, 2012

“But I am oppressed and needy. May the Lord think of me. You are my help and my savior. O my God, do not delay!” Psalm 40:17

Everyday I am realizing that I cannot live without God. I can’t breath, live or move without the Lord in my life. I pray that he always think of me, consider me and help me without delay. I pray the same for you. ~Patrice Tankard

Stand in Power and Victory

March 20, 2012

“The wicked are overthrown, and are not: but the house of the righteous shall stand.” Proverbs 12:7

Be encouraged today and know that you do not have to become intimidated with negative forces that come against you in your life. If you are experiencing the harsh realities of challenges, disappointments, and situations that make you feel uncomfortable, just know that you have the victory. The wicked may thrive for a while but not for long. If you love and serve the Lord in righteousness, just know that you will stand in power and victory no matter what. Stand in your power and victory because God is on your side!

Believe God

March 19, 2012

“Therefore I say unto you, What things soever ye desire, when ye pray, believe that ye receive them, and ye shall have them. And when ye stand praying, forgive, if ye have ought against any: that your Father also which is in heaven may forgive you your trespasses.”  Mark 11:24

When you are asking or petitioning the Lord in prayer, you must believe already that you have what you have asked for. It’s almost like praying an affirmative prayer. For example, this is an affirmative prayer: “Father, thank for you for providing us with the finances to attend the conference next month.” Even though you do not have the finances yet to attend, you are trusting God and believing that he will provide for you. The scripture also makes reference to forgiving those who you may have ought against when you pray. The Lord will forgive you only if you forgive others.  Make sure you take care of this so that your prayers and the results that you desire from your prayers will not be hindered. But most of all believe God.
