Keep Your Eyes Fixed on Him

April 30, 2012

“But my eyes are fixed on you, O Sovereign Lord; in you I take refuge…” Psalm 141:8a

Right now there are so many things happening in my life that sometimes it is difficult to keep my focus. There are so many things to start, do, and complete. Sometimes I become overwhelmed by all of the responsibilities of “wearing so many hats”. However, I am trying to keep my eyes fixed on the Lord and I am taking refuge in the Lord so that I can continue in great success. Be encouraged today to keep your eyes fixed on the Lord. He is Sovereign and available to shield you as you take refuge in Him.

Trust and Blessings

April 29, 2012

“O Lord, of hosts, blessed is the man who trusts in You!” Psalm 84:12

Those that trust in the Lord can rest in his embraces during turbulent times and challenges. Take comfort today and know that your trusting in the Lord will bring you blessings.

Dwell in Safety

April 29, 2012

“I will lie down and sleep in peace, for you alone, O Lord, make me dwell in safety.”  Psalm 4:8

Be encouraged today to allow your mind to rest in the peace of the Lord.  My mother used to tell us to read Psalm 91 when we felt the need to feel protection. When you get time read it. It is very comforting. Sometimes our minds race when we try to go to sleep. However, I have found that reading the Bible does wonders to calm down my mind, thoughts, anxieties and concerns.  Praying to the Lord also helps.  Be encouraged today to depend on the peaceful embraces of God’s word and his protection. He will protect you, your family and your dwelling if you trust him.

Near, Hear & Save

April 27, 2012

“The LORD is nigh unto all them that call upon him, to all that call upon him in truth.  He will fulfil the desire of them that fear him: he also will hear their cry, and will save them.”  Psalm 145:18-19

The Lord is omnipresent and he is available for all who call on upon him and who sincerely needs him. Take comfort in knowing that you can experience his closeness because he is near. For all who reverence him, he will hear their cries and save them. This scripture is comforting to me because I stay in the need of the Lord’s closeness. I long to embrace and I desire the intimacy that the presence of the Lord can provide. Be encouraged and know that the Lord is near and he is listening for your call. He is near us, he will hear us and he will save us.

Run to Safety

April 26, 2012

“The name of the Lord is a strong tower; the righteous run to it and are safe.” Proverbs 18:10

The name of the Lord is powerful and great. There is no other name that can save. If  you need refuge Jesus will protect you and bring you into his embraces. No matter what your issues or concerns are, the Lord is more than able to handle your situations. There are many times that I call on the name of the Lord. I do it when I become afraid, anxious or desperate. He provides me with comfort and assures me that things will work out. At this stage in my life with my last child who is leaving for college soon, I wonder what it would be like to live alone. I have been with people all of my life. I am excited about the opportunities and the extra freedom to explore life. However, I am asking the Lord in advance to provide comfort on those days when no one is around and the house is totally quiet. I hope to bask in the serenity of the presence of the Lord with extreme happiness. I am asking him in advance to protect me on my international travels that are coming up and the projects that are set before me that seem too big for me. Life in itself seems way to big and overwhelming in a fantastic way, but it’s overwhelming just the same. It can be pleasantly overbearing for a single woman. But I will depend on the strong arms of the Lord to protect me, comfort me and keep me. His name is a strong tower. Take the time today and run in and be safe.

We have another Chance

April 25, 2012

John 1:9-10: “If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.

Be encouraged today and know that we have the awesome opportunity to be redeemed. No matter what we have done, if we confess our sins the Lord is faithful to forgive us our sins and cleanse us from all unrighteousness. What that means is that we are human and we may fall, but when we do we can be forgiven. We should not sin deliberately and we should not try to take advantage of his grace, but we should sincerely embrace the intention to live for the Lord in deliberate obedience. Strive everyday to live righteous before the Lord and others. We are not perfect yet but we are in the process. When we mess up it is a blessing to know that God forgives us and that we have another chance.

Stay Sober and Viligant

April 24, 2012

“Be sober, be vigilant; because your adversary the devil, as a roaring lion, walketh about, seeking whom he may devour: ” 1 Peter 5:8a

Be encouraged today and stay alert in your journey in life. The adversary seeks to devour, but stay sober and viligant. Being sober means to be habitually temperate, quiet, subdued and serious. To be viligant means to be keenly watchful to detect danger and to be alert. Stay prayerful and versed in the word of God and know that you already have the victory over the enemy. Living in the arms and protection of the Lord will yield your success and the enemy’s defeat.

God’s Power will always out weigh your challenges

April 23, 2012

“I will bless the LORD at all times: his praise shall continually be in my mouth” Psalm 34:1

This may be easier said than done but it is admirable. Blessing the Lord at all times means to bless his name even during challenges. It is very exciting to bless the name of the Lord when things are going well. But how quickly will you bless his name in the time of devastation, illness, hardship or death? The praises of the Lord should continually be in our mouths regardless of the situations because God is still God and He is still on the throne. What that means for us is that the challenges will never out weigh the possibilities and the power of God, and that is why his praises should continually be in our mouths. Nothing is bigger than God.

Your confidence is in Him

April 22, 2012

“Have no fear of sudden disaster or of the ruin that overtakes the wicked, for the Lord will be your confidence and will keep your foot from being snared” Proverbs 3:25 -26

If you are serving the Lord to the best of your ability, then while you are doing so you should have developed a close enough relationship with him to enjoy intimate trust with Him. This means that you should not become fearful when you see or hear about the disasters or devastations that may be taking place around you or in the world. Your confidence is in the Lord and he will protect you and keep your foot being snared(He will keep evil away from you and block the destructive plans from the enemy that were targeting your life).  Embrace the care, comfort and protection of the Lord. Your confidence is in Him.

Peace

April 21, 2012

“If it be possible, as much as lieth in you, live peaceably with all men” Romans 12:18

As much as you can, live everyday and every situation calmly, with purpose and direction and in peace.
