Your Latter is Greater Than Your Former

“After Job had prayed for his friends, the Lord made him prosperous again and gave him twice as much as he had before. The Lord blessed the latter part of Job’s life more than the first.” Job 42: 10, 12

If you have been waiting for years for certain prayers to be answered and for the promises of God to be fulfilled in your life, then get ready to get happy. The book of Job is “long-winded” but it is worth reading.  Job’s suffering was so bad that it looked like he was the reason for his own turmoil. Job was frowned upon and it was speculated by others that there is no way a man could suffer this much unless he brought it on himself. It is sort of like how we view suffering today. Some of us are quick to pass judgment on ones who are sick, destitute, or troubled. But the focus here is the word “perseverance.” We will never suffer without spiritual reasons and this is where trusting God is extremely important. But what is exciting is this: if it has been years or a long period of time and your blessings have not come yet, that means that you are closer to them than you are far from them. In other words, the longer it takes for your promises to be fulfilled, the closer you are to them. For me it has been many years of waiting on certain promises from God.  That is great because that means that they can come any day now! The latter part of my life is going to be greater than the former. Much suffering has gone forth in my life, so there is no where to go from here but up.   Grab hold to your promises from God and trust Him because your latter is going to be greater than your former!
