“Wait on the LORD: be of good courage, and he shall strengthen thine heart: wait, I say, on the LORD.” Psalm 27:14
In a highly technological world everything is fast, furious and “right now.” Just surfing the internet alone can make one very impatient. Clicking on pages that upload quickly and ones that don’t can cause a fluctuation of patience issues. This can translate into not wanting to wait for things in life to happen. We are a media-driven society where things happen in the movies and on television in a flash. What that does for us subliminally is tell us that we don’t have to endure processes and wait for things. It subconsciously insinuates that waiting is not necessary. So, when it comes to waiting for our prayers to be answered by God, we sometimes act confused when it does not happen when we want it to. Is it that God is too slow to answer, or is it that we have allowed ourselves to be conditioned to unrealistically expect magical results, while totally ignoring that there is a “process” and “God’s timing” to be considered? We must learn to wait on the Lord.
